We have chosen to combine Washed and Natural Peruvian Geshas. The result is a delicate, aromatic cup with pleasant sweetness.
When leaf rust devastated Finca Miraflores between 2011 and 2013, the farm faced a decision about what to plant next. Its trees had been almost entirely Typica, a variety particularly vulnerable to the disease. While some damaged trees were cut back and regenerated, the team introduced Gesha, Bourbon, Java and SL-28 across selected areas. Rather than rebuilding around disease-resistant varieties such as Catimor, they chose to explore new opportunities within specialty coffee.
The second Gesha comes from Finca Pacpa in Amazonas, Peru, where fourth-generation producer Manuel Marlo Baca has been refining the family farm’s cultivation and processing since 2017. Alongside professional training, he has invested in detailed record-keeping, using each harvest to adjust fermentation, cherry selection and shade management. His Gesha has earned both district and regional competition wins.
