Pikudo PKG Natural Gesha

This natural Gesha cup provides powerful florals with creamy dense tropical fruit notes.

Born from the passion and daring of Jorge Andrade, along with a little bit of luck and the help of some good friends, this PKG Natural Gesha is a testament to never giving up, even when the odds are set against you.

For decades Jorge had been deeply involved in the deciduous fruit business until the closure of the Colombia-Venezuela border occurred in 2018. With a sudden drop in demand for stone fruits and apples, he was quickly pushed out of business. He had to act fast, and with help of Orlando Sánchez, a familiar face in the specialty industry, he was able to obtain Rosado and Gesha seeds, allowing him to begin cultivation of a new coffee farm and forge a path out of the crisis.

The problem still remained of finding a buyer, and whilst Colombia is famous for an impressive network of buying stations they are only interested in beans that have been through thorough washing processes. Thankfully Don Orlando came to the rescue once again, inviting LaREB’s procurement team to try his coffees and seeing the innate quality of his crop, the rest is history.

Jorge, or “Pikudo” as the community calls him, is now a coffee farmer, and from the incredible cup quality of this lot we can’t wait to taste more of his offerings in the future.

Store in a cool, dry place.

In nitrogen-flushed, valveless bags, oxygen content is reduced to under 3%, preserving optimal quality for up to 9 months.

Once open we recommend using within 7 days.
