gesha

Orlando Gesha

With heady florals, long acidity and an aromatic, silky body, this exceptional Gesha is reminiscent of our favourite elements of the most exquisite Ethiopian coffees.

On the cupping table this truly stood out, and we are thrilled to present this Colombian washed lot in our Gesha genre for August.

Located in south Colombia, the stunning Huila region is bordered by the Andean sub-ranges of “Cordillera Oriental” and “Cordillera Central”. Grown on the slopes of the cordilleras, the specialty lots of the region enjoy a near-perfect microclimate, with year-round distribution of rainfall and ambient temperatures creating greenhouse-like conditions, allowing multiple flowering periods throughout the year.

Coffee has long been a career that spans family-generations in Huila, with the majority of producers having been raised on the family farm. Part of a deep-rooted, cultural institution, coffee production remains the economic and social constant in the area, with Huila still the largest producing-department in the country.

This outstanding Gesha lot from Orlando Sánchez, in the municipality of Palestina has undergone a full washed process, with overripe picking, twelve-hour in-husk rest periods and seventy-two hour closed, dry-mass fermentation. This is then followed by greenhouse drying for fifteen days.

Store in a cool, dry place.

In nitrogen-flushed, valveless bags, oxygen content is reduced to under 3%, preserving optimal quality for up to 9 months.

Once open we recommend using within 7 days.
